One of Calderdale’s best-known and busiest disability organisations, Halifax Society for the Blind, has changed its public name to Sight Support Calderdale.
Here’s the press release they issued to announce the news:
We are writing to inform you of an exciting development within our organisation. Following a period of consultation with our members and stakeholders, we are pleased to announce that whilst we will retain the official name of Halifax Society for the Blind, on a daily basis we will be known as Sight Support Calderdale.
This re-brand reflects the evolving nature of our services and better represents the geographical area we cover. Whilst our mission to provide practical and emotional support to those living with sight loss in Calderdale and the surrounding areas remains the same, we hope that the less formal name gives a clearer picture, in a friendly and supportive manner, of who we are and what we do.
Please note that while our working name is changing, our commitment to partnership, collaboration, and delivering high-quality support remains as strong as ever.
We look forward to continuing our work together under this new identity and thank you for your ongoing support.
