The Caring Kind Project is a new initiative giving ‘West Yorkshire’s unpaid carers the chance to take a much needed break’. You’ll find more information on their website – www.thecaringkindproject.org.uk/ – here’s what they say about their work:
We work to recognise the 400,000 unpaid carers in our region who quietly give so much — at great personal cost. These are family members, friends, and neighbours who care for loved ones, without pay and all too often without recognition.
We give them something simple, yet so meaningful — a break. This is only made possible by the kindness of businesses that generously give breaks, experiences, and services that directly benefit a community, where burnout is a constant risk.
Another resource similar to this is Carefree – Change Happens Overnight. Here’s what they say about their work:
We know how challenging it can be to care for someone. A couple of days away with a partner or a friend can work wonders. It may seem like a small thing but it can make a huge difference. Read a book, go for a walk, or simply catch up on some sleep. Whatever you choose to do, you’ll return home with a whole new outlook on things, refreshed and rejuvenated.
