From Saturday 19 September until Sunday 4 October, Huddersfield and Slaithwaite stations will be closed while major railway improvements are delivered as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade.
During the 16-day closure, the following work will be carried out:
- Track and drainage renewals
- New track installation to increase capacity
- Improvements at Huddersfield and Deighton stations
- Work supporting future electrification of the railway
These upgrades will help deliver a more reliable, higher-capacity and greener railway for customers across the North. Customers are encouraged to start planning ahead and check journey information before they travel National Rail.
