A new report, co-authored by the King’s Fun and the Nuffield Trust, analysing findings from the British Social Attitudes (BSA) survey, found that for the first time since the pandemic, public satisfaction with the NHS has increased. In 2025, 26% of British adults were satisfied with how the NHS runs – a statistically significant 6 percentage point increase from 2024.
But despite the increase, satisfaction remains historically low. Access to services is still the major issue for the public, and only 22% of respondents were satisfied with A&E services. Just 14% of respondents said they were satisfied with social care.
The report concludes that, while the year-on-year falls in satisfaction appear to have eased, they do not offer a solid signal as to whether the bounce in NHS satisfaction marks a decisive turning point.
