National Deaf Children’s Society’s BSL Courses

Learn British Sign Language

We have free courses for families to be introduced to family sign language and BSL, find out more below.

Upcoming online sessions

Happy Hands (0 to 4 years)

Baby sign sessions are our online play times where you and your child can be introduced to a number of signs as you sing and read stories together.

At these interactive, online sessions, you and your little one will have fun whilst singing well known songs and nursery rhymes and reading some of your favourite stories. We’ll be using lots of toys, teddies and colour to grab your child’s attention and engage them through the screen.

Happy Hands is not a British Sign Language course but is a relaxed, animated and fun song time designed to boost children’s development in their early years whilst picking up some everyday signs along the way.

Family Sign Language – group online course

This free online group course is for families of deaf children age 0 to 5 years, to come together and learn useful everyday signs alongside other families.

It’s designed for those who have little or no previous experience of sign language.
