If you live in an area prone to flooding, it might be worth popping the 28th September in your diary.
On that date, the Environment Agency will sound eight Flood Warning Sirens across the Upper Calder Valley between 11:00am – 11:15am.
Sirens in Walsden, Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, and Mytholmroyd will sound for two minutes. When the sirens are sounded on this day it is a test. If the sirens are sounded at any other time it should be treated seriously and you should take action.
If the Environment Agency is in incident mode or poor weather is forecast on the day the test will be postponed until Thursday 12 October.
