Blue Badge Parking Interaction Survey

Disabled PhD student Vera Kubenz is researching disabled people’s interactions with strangers in Blue Badge parking spaces.

It asks about the kind of encounters disabled people have had in accessible parking spaces, what happened during them, some of the potential motivations behind the encounter, and how disabled people navigate them. It takes 15-20 minutes to complete in total.

Vera says, “As a disabled person myself I have had many encounters in parking spaces and now they can be a significant source of everyday disablism in people’s lives. With this research, I am hoping to highlight the effect of these everyday encounters and provide evidence on whether the Blue Badge scheme is currently working to truly remove barriers to access for disabled people.”
