You may have been going to the shop, to study or walking back from work and found yourself feeling unsafe. There might be a street in your area which does not have adequate lighting when it gets dark or there may be an abandoned building that has been vandalised.
The StreetSafe tool is here to help put a stop to this. The tool allows you to anonymously report areas where you feel unsafe. Here in West Yorkshire, the Police have already begun implementing changes following the feedback given by residents on the StreetSafe tool.
In Calderdale, the information gained from the tool was fed back through to partners agencies including Local Authority in the district which included concerns regarding street lighting and road layout.
The data has also allowed for the local Neighbourhood Policing Team to focus on areas where an increased deployment of additional patrols are needed.

StreetSafe is not for reporting crime or incidents. To report a crime, you can contact us via the 101LiveChat function on the website or by calling us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
