Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Newsletter

A warm welcome to your May newsletter, full of all the latest updates from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

This week is Deaf Awareness Week, a week dedicated to raising awareness of deafness and supporting those who are deaf or have hearing loss. The theme of the week this year is inclusion, and if you follow us on social media you will see us sharing stories of the people your support is helping. People whose hearing dogs have helped to remove barriers and make them feel more included in many different areas of life.

If you’d like to help even more deaf people, you can support our Paws Appeal this month. The Paws Appeal is a series of collections we are running across the UK throughout May, to raise money to train more life-changing hearing dogs and provide more services to anyone with hearing loss, such as support groups and our Helpdesk.

By kindly giving up just two hours of your time to join a collection in your area, or by simply stopping for a chat if you spot a collection locally, you can make a real difference to deaf people. People like Janice, who you can read about below. Janice has valued the support of having her hearing dogs for nearly 30 years. This kind of long-term support is only possibly because of the kindness of supporters like you.

As ever, a huge thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy the issue.
