DWP publishes plan: Fighting Fraud in the Welfare System

This week, the Government published Fighting Fraud in the Welfare System, which sets out the Department for Work and Pensions’ plan to tackle the growing challenge posed by those seeking to exploit the public purse.

The publication sets out transformative plans to take strides in protecting the taxpayer from those who are intent on stealing from public funds. Countdown to Pension Credit Day of Action

DWP’s Pension Credit campaign is building towards a day of action on Wednesday 15 June.

So far, national newspapers and social and digital channels have been carrying messages reminding pensioners they should check their eligibility for financial support. The Pension Credit calculator is the quickest and easiest way to do this.

The campaign aims to help with the challenges some pensioners are facing with the cost of living.

On, and in the lead up, to the Day of Action, the Minister for Pensions and Financial Inclusion, Guy Opperman, has a range of media and digital activity planned.

We would appreciate your support in helping us spread our Pension Credit message. We have pulled together a variety of different content which you can use on your channels.

DWP (including Jobcentre Plus) arrangements over Spring and Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday

DWP (including Jobcentre Plus) opening times are different over Spring and Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday.

On Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June offices and phone lines are closed.

To make sure people receive their payments on a day when our offices are open, arrangements have been made to make some payments early:

If the expected payment date is Thursday 2 or Friday 3 June benefits will be paid early on Wednesday 1 June

If the expected payment date is not shown, customers will get their money on their usual payment date.
