British Sign Language Bill: BSL version video

This is a Government bill to:

  • recognise British Sign Language (BSL) as a language of England, Wales and Scotland
  • require reporting on the use of BSL by government departments
  • require guidance to be issued in relation to BSL

The explanatory notes:

  • explain what each part of the bill will mean in practice
  • provide background information on the development of policy
  • provide additional information on how the bill will affect existing legislation in this area
