A video about the plan, the Voice of West Yorkshire Document and the Needs Assessment can be found here: The Police and Crime Plan – West Yorkshire Combined Authority (westyorks-ca.gov.uk)
It coincides with a series of events marking International Women’s Day, as the safety of women and girls forms a key part of the 3-year strategy.
It also follows one of the biggest consultation exercises the county has ever seen, and outlines a vision of making West Yorkshire ‘Safe, Just and Inclusive’.
Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire said: “I see a once in a generation opportunity to bring together partners and powers to create a ‘public health approach’ to policing and crime in West Yorkshire.
“The preparation of the plan has helped us understand and identify some of the greatest issues which we are all tackling.
“It reinforces the importance of co-production and co-commissioning and we will have a commissioning strategy as part of our approach.
“In coming together to deliver this, it will drive us to work better with the resources we have, with better outcomes for those each of us serve, day in day out.”
