We’ve had an email from Family Voice Calderdale (FVC), who are holding a focus group on Monday 18th October at 4.30pm via Zoom on this topic with the aim of attendees sharing their experiences of the Community Care Charge and they’re inviting our members to join in.
They’re hoping to get together a representative group of parent carers of young people aged 18-25 to discuss issues around the charge. A survey and subsequent report were produced earlier this year and FVC would like to delve deeper into the issues raised.
The focus group will be confidential and anonymous. The results will be collated and used to engage with the council and the findings will be published on the Unique Ways website. If any members are interested in attending if they could email Heidi Coney on family.voice@uniqueways.org.uk by Friday 8th October and provide their contact details. They will be asked to provide their young person’s age, disability and whether they attend school, college, live at home or independently.
