Consultation – proposals for A641 scheme

Have your say on the latest proposals for A641 (Bradford~Brighouse~Huddersfield) scheme
With funding from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), and working closely with Bradford and Kirklees Councils, we have had the opportunity to develop proposals for a series of improvements to the A641 to help provide better connections for the communities along the route and between Huddersfield, Brighouse and Bradford.

There are a number of transport related issues in this area including congestion, unreliable journey times, poor air quality and the lack of safe and attractive facilities for people choosing to walk, wheel or cycle.

We want your input on an ambitious series of proposed improvement schemes which build upon existing knowledge and use feedback received in the public consultation earlier this year.

At present WYCA has allocated funding of £75.5 million to the scheme, but the current proposals in this consultation exceed that funding.  Your views on the proposed improvements will help us identify and develop the best ones to form a final package of schemes. You can learn more about the plans, see the latest designs and comment online at:

For those who are unable to access the internet, printed copies of the designs and surveys are available by contacting the West Yorkshire Combined Authority:
