How The Pulse Oximeter Is Helping The Covid fight in Calderdale

A pulse oximeter is a little device that is put on the finger to monitor the oxygen levels in the blood. Patients who attend A&E at Calderdale Royal Hospital and who have symptoms of coronavirus but have tested negative, will be discharged from the A&E Department with a pulse oximeter.

This will monitor their oxygen saturation levels, as one of the side-effects of coronavirus is low oxygen saturation.

They can then ring a special phone number if they then go on to have any general inquiries or concerns about the reading of their oxygen levels.
