Loneliness: Staying Well is Just a Phonecall Away

With the nights drawing in and lockdown still in place with the potential that it may be extended, more people may come to experience loneliness.

According to the BBC, Lockdown loneliness has reached record levels. The numbers of adults who state they are frequently or always lonely has increased since the first lockdown earlier in March 2020.

There are several organisations who work towards reaching out to individuals coping with being alone throughout Calderdale. The Staying Well Hub team is one of them.

How the Staying Well team can help you

The Staying Well Hub Team are here to listen to your concerns and help you make sense of what is happening. Whatever you are dealing with, we would like to hear from you because help is always at hand.

The telephone befriending service is how the Staying Well Team can be contacted during the COVID-19 period.

Isolation has never been such a concern and risk as it currently is but a chat with a Volunteer Befriender can make all the difference to someone who is lonely. So get in touch to find out how we can help you.

We can offer assistance in a variety of different languages, please enquire to see how we can assit.

This service aims to match clients with volunteers who have similar interests and common ground, aiming to offer a listening ear to those who feel isolated.

Referrals can be made over the telephone or you can visit the Staying Well website to fill out the referral form.

Individuals can refer themselves. In order to refer someone you will need their consent.
