Disability Partnership Calderdale has been involved with the consultation process during the drawing up of plans for the new Halifax Bus Station. Below is the latest information on the project from the people running the consultation aspects of the project.
Letter To Consultation Partners
Thank you for taking part in the Halifax Bus Station stakeholder and public consultation late last year. Your feedback has been extremely valuable in helping to shape our plans.
Since the consultation closed at the end of February, we have analysed and considered all of the feedback received and included it in the Statement of Community Involvement as part of the planning application. We have also put together a summary report, which we have attached to this email for your information.
The planning application was submitted to Calderdale Council July, which is available to review here. If our application is approved, we will finalise the details of the design and develop our plans for the operation of the bus station and associated bus services during construction, which is anticipated to begin in Summer 2021. A decision on the application is anticipated in Autumn 2020.
If you would like to share this update, please do so. You can also share the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Your Voice webpage, which has now been updated with a public summary of the consultation results and an outline of the project next steps. As we discussed at our December workshop, we would like to continue engaging accessibility groups throughout the development of this project. We are aiming to host a second workshop to gather your feedback on the detailed design of the bus station in September this year and are currently considering the safest and most productive way to do this, given the current COVID-19 restrictions.
