The New Scientist website has an interesting article that looks at a question that’s on the minds of many people in the Uk, namely, will there be a second wave of Covid-19 infections, or will the downward trend continue?
Since May 11, there has been a steady relaxing of lockdown restrictions but, as yet, no second peak of infections.
Factors to be considered when explaining this include herd immunity, the arrival of summer (i.e. climate as a factor), the tightening of practices in care homes, and changing behaviours amongst the population as a whole.
