Road and pavement defects, such as potholes and displaced flagstones can be very dangerous. Especially at this time of year, when many people are out and about after dark. If you or a neighbour has mobility issues, being able use a safe pavement or road surface is essential.
Calderdale Council has a reporting system so you can make them aware of dangerous defects in adopted highways. They aim to put them right within 24 hours, and other serious defects within 14 days.
Online requests will be dealt with in normal office hours. During evenings, weekends and bank holidays please report any dangerous issues by telephoning 01422 288000.
You can assist the Council in this process by providing as much of the following information as possible:
- Accurate location. Is there a near by landmark, lamp column or house number? Is the defect in the road or pavement?
- Description of the defect, for example, large pot-hole in the road.
- Your details including a daytime contact number where possible.
