The Community Foundation for Calderdale’s Older Person’s Holiday Fund makes going on a holiday more affordable for older people who do not have the opportunity through social isolation, ill health or disability or financial hardship.
A holiday can provide a change of scenery, a chance to sightsee or simply a relaxing break with loved ones.
Grants of £300 for a single person or £500 for a couple are available towards a holiday in the UK. If a single person needs a carer it is possible to apply as a couple to enable the carer to go too.
Applications are weighted towards:
- Applicants who are 60+
- People who live in postcode areas HX although people who live in other areas of Calderdale are encouraged to apply.
- Those in financial hardship
- Those who suffer from long term illness or disability.
- People who have not benefited from the fund before
The application deadline for UK breaks in 2020 is 15th December 2019

Decisions will be made within 4 weeks of the grant deadline and payments will be made directly to the holiday provider.
