More About The Survey
Following complaints to Healthwatch about the Opcare service in 2016/2017, surveys were carried out amongst Opcare customers in 2017 to find out what they thought of the service they received/were receiving. The results showed that whilst some customers expressed satisfaction, a significant number of people were very dissatisfied about aspects of the service.
People who were less satisfied included: Children and young people up to 21 years of age, people with complex and/or long term health conditions, people whose needs change over time, carers, people who use powered wheelchairs.
People who were more satisfied included: Adults up to 60 years of age, people with less complex/short term conditions, people whose needs stay the same, people who use manual wheelchairs.
The key areas of dissatisfaction were around: Communication, staff attitudes, waiting times, irregular assessments, repairs/spares, equipment not suitable, location/times of clinic, lack of funding.
PCAN has been commissioned by Calderdale and Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to find out what people think about changes and improvements that could be made to the service, so it better meets the needs of its customers.
They would love to hear your ideas and suggestions and whether you think that the funding available from the CCGs is being used in the best way. This might also include how the service could be structured differently, eg. separate department for children/young people and complex adults, a provider which includes local wheelchair users. All your ideas will be added into an independent report which PCAN will submit to the CCGs before 20th July 2018. Thank you for completing this survey.
